If we define eating disorders narrowly to those described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, these are currently seen to affect over 30 million Americans at some point in their lives (10% of the U.S. population); in broader definition the figures are astonishing, with enormous impact on individual & public health. Recognition & management in the conventional medical community is recognized within the eating disorders informed community to be terribly inadequate. Only a small percentage (est. 10%) of affected individuals present their eating concerns to medical attention, and most individuals seen clinically present with other issues of concern.
In this 6-session course, we’ll examine cases from my clinical case-files, of clients impacted by Anorexia nervosa, Bulimia nervosa, Binge eating disorder, Avoidant Restrictive Eating disorder, Pica, Laxative abuse disorder, Compulsive Exercise disorder, and Orthorexia nervosa; with attention to homeopathic treatment and therapeutic approaches used synergistically in combination with homeopathy, & will examine important “side-issues” that come up in the treatment of these disorders.
